Throughout my youth and young adulthood, I faced a number of health challenges. Unfortunately the traditional medical avenues provided nothing but frustration and disappointment.

After years of struggle, I decided to take matters into my own hands. Thus began a long journey of digging into the most cutting-edge research in evolutionary biology, physiology, nutrition, immunology, metabolomics, exercise science, and cellular bioenergetics in order to optimize my health and athletic performance.

Over the years, it has become clear that my background in mechanical engineering, and the special skill set it provided, has given me a distinct ability to problem-solve in a way that is unique in the health world. By analyzing your health challenges like an engineer, we’re able to get down to the root of the issues at hand and provide simple and actionable solutions to complex dysfunctions.

After a decade of working with clients, I’ve come to realize that the only way to truly optimize your health is to understand how YOUR body is functioning within the context of your local environment and your current state function. What Is the Optimal Health Approach?

An Optimal Health philosophy takes a systems-oriented and patient-centered approach to address the underlying root causes of disease rather than masking the symptoms once they arise. The focus of an Optimal Health approach is on the whole person, not just an isolated set of symptoms. This means spending time with you in order to understand the complex interactions between diet, lifestyle, genetic, and environmental factors that impact long-term health or chronic dysfunction.

An Optimal Health philosophy promotes the idea of increase vitality, not merely the absence of disease, through positive interaction with the world around us.

Unlike a traditional Western philosophy, an Optimal Health approach creates a unique partnership of joint responsibility between practitioner and client whereby the client is an active participant in the development of their therapeutic plan. Traditional Western medicine and the doctors who practice it are the best in the world at dealing with acute care and trauma.
